Elden Ring: Nightreign uses pre-built characters instead of Elden Ring's full character creation. Each character has a unique kit designed around a specific combat role. Your weapon and gear choices within each run layer on top of the character's base abilities. Here's what works.

Character tier list

S-tier: Characters with strong self-sustain AND team utility. In extraction games, surviving matters more than peaking damage. Characters that can heal themselves while supporting teammates dominate.

A-tier: Damage specialists. High output but dependent on teammates for survival. Excellent with coordinated squads, risky with randoms.

B-tier: Niche specialists. Strong in specific scenarios, weaker in general play. Require game knowledge to use effectively.

Build principles for Nightreign

Prioritize weapon upgrades over new weapons. A +6 common weapon does more damage than a +0 rare. Upgrade materials are the most valuable loot in early night cycles.
